I count on one thing..

As I was sitting with my toddler the other morning listening to online Church service they sang the following songs for a reason.

Look at these breath taking words, full of life, full of love, full of the truth of Jesus, the word of Jesus.

“I count on one thing
The same God that never fails
Will not fail me now
You won’t fail me now
In the waiting
The same God who’s never late
Is working all things out
You’re working all things out

Yes I will, lift You high in the lowest valley
Yes I will, bless Your name
Oh, yes I will, sing for joy when my heart is heavy
All my days, oh, yes I will”

  • Yes I will by Vertical Worship

“My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly trust in Jesus’ name

Christ alone; cornerstone
Weak made strong in the Savior’s love
Through the storm, He is Lord

When Darkness seems to hide His face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil.”

Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His Word
Just to rest upon His promise,
Just to know, “Thus saith the Lord!”

This world seems so uncertain right now. Everything has changed. Everything continues to change day by day. Everything has gone from a fast pace to slowing way down. Things that you thought would not or could not change have changed. Things you cling to like sports, NBA, golf, baseball, high school sports, high school graduation, college graduation, school in general, restaurants, celebrations, work, jobs, money, music, talk shows, TV in general. We have favorite things that we simply cannot have at the snap of our fingers anymore. We are forced to look elsewhere. Being stuck inside for days and days is tough. You have to figure out things to do, get creative with your kids. Take them outside and get them off the screens. Make fun with them. Laugh with them. Lighten the mood, let go and have fun with them. Teach them how to cook, how to work on the car, change a tire, teach them things you normally would say you “don’t have the time for”.

Kids are growing up to fast, this world is full of distractions. This time is a scary time but honestly its been a nice break. A time to let go of your fears because honestly you cant change anything. Let go of your stress, stressing will not speed anything up so you can get back to work. I get it, being out of work is hard, its stressful, the unknown is very scary. However, stressing and worrying is not helping anything. It won’t change anything. It will rob you of your joy. Rob you of the moments you are getting with your family and children. Rob you of finally getting that “me time.” Rob you of your health by making you spiral down into worrisome thoughts. Pick yourself up, go on a walk, get some fresh air, find some “me time,” and make every day a great day. Find the positives in everything, in every day. Do it for your kids if anything. Your kids don’t need the added stress of this world and whats going on. They are enjoying being home with you and spending time with family. God has promised us that he will take care of us. He will provide for us. He has already walked through this and he is here to pull you through. He is here with you.

Matthew 6:25-27 says this “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink or about our body, what you will wear. Is life not more than food, and the body more than clothes? (26) Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? (27) Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?”

Matthew 6:31-34 says “So do not worry, saying ‘What shall we eat? or What shall we drink? or What shall we wear?’ (32) for the gentiles run after all these things, and our heavenly father knows you need them.” (33) But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you.” (34) Therefor do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough worry of its own.”

Make time today to let go of your worry. Let go of your stress. Try your best not to worry about tomorrow or next week. When worry creeps in, pray. When you feel yourself starting to stress out just begin to pray. I know the financial part is very scary and very hard right now. Your fears are very real and valid. God knows your heart, he sees your fear, he hears your cry. Know that I am praying for you, for all of your worries. All the moms out there, we need to join together and pray for each other. It will get better, we will all get through this together. Enjoy your family. Enjoy your children being home. Enjoy these moments because soon everything will go back to the way it was. Work will be work. The TV will be on. Sports will be back. Restaurants will have your favorite food. You will be able to go get the new shoes. Relax in the simplicity of life right now. Dig into Gods word and find peace. Pray for other mamas. Gods got this y’all.

So with all that being said, I count on one thing..the SAME God that NEVER fails.
